Gel polish is a nail polish to which a gel has been added, which makes it last much better compared to traditional nail polish. Gel polish is also called ‘semi-permanent nail polish’ and often lasts for 2 weeks. Gel polish must be hardened under an LED or UV lamp and has a smooth and glossy finish.
Step 1: Preparing.
To benefit from your nails for as long as possible, good preparation is half the battle. Gently push your cuticles back with the cuticle pusher & then file your nails into the desired shape. Also make sure that your nails are free of grease and clean.
Step 2: Apply base coat
After preparation, apply the base coat to your nails. You do this in a thin layer over the entire nail. Make sure you grab the top edge carefully, but keep a distance of approximately 1 mm from the cuticles. Cure the base coat in an LED or UV lamp and go to the next step.
Step 3: Apply gel polish
Choose your desired color and apply it to your nails. You should also apply the gel polish in a thin layer and the top edge of the nail must also be properly painted. You then harden this layer again under an LED or UV lamp. Gel polish is often semi-transparent, so repeat the above step 2 or 3 times for an opaque result.
Step 4: Apply topcoat
As a final step, you apply the top coat to your nail. This must be applied to your entire nail as in the previous steps and must also be hardened again under the UV lamp.
